ES Pipelines and ESP Electricity together help households across Britain make the energy connection. ESP Electricity develops and operates electricity networks, primarily for new-build developments and the industrial & commercial market, while ES Pipelines extends the national natural gas network so that householders can take advantage of the convenience and flexibility of 'mains' natural gas.

When ES Pipelines or ESP Electricity provides a connection to your property, you're not tied to buying your gas or electricity from a particular provider. You will need to enter into a contract for your energy supply with one of the UK's licensed suppliers. For independent advice on how to obtain a supplier, click here to visit the Ofgem website.

Priority Services Register

The Priority Services Register allows eligible customers to access additional help and support with their energy supply. For information about the qualifying criteria and how to sign up, please visit our FAQ page.

ETTOS (Energy Theft Tip Off Service)

Energy Theft is most often carried out by tampering with the meter or by bypassing the meter completely so it doesn’t record how much electricity or gas is being used.When a meter has been tampered with, it is unsafe for those in the property and potentially the neighbours too.  If you are aware of meter tampering on any gas or electricity supply, please report it.

If you spot energy theft anywhere, you can report it anonymously now over the phone on 0800 023 2777. Alternatively you can fill out the anonymous online form at Stay Energy Safe.

New 'one-off' gas connections

ES Pipelines is the UK's market leader in extending the national gas network to homes and communities all over Great Britain.

ES Pipelines is only able to offer connections to individual properties if we own the existing gas network in the local area, and the property lies within 23 metres of the gas main.

If the nearest gas main is owned by ES Pipelines and a connection is required for an individual property, we would be happy to provide a quotation for these works. In our experience, the cost for a one off gas connection tends to be in the region of £2,000 + VAT. Gas service diversions

If you are an existing ES Pipelines customer and require your gas meter to be moved due to building works being undertaken, please download our Service Diversion Enquiry Form here, complete it and send it to our main office or email a scanned copy to meterworks@espug.com. The cost for a gas service diversion is usually in the region of £1,500 + VAT. Please take a look at our Gas Service Pipe Alteration Guidance Note for advice on whether a meter needs to be moved. Electricity supplies

If you have a new property that requires connection to an existing ESP Electricity network then please contact espe@espug.com with the details of the property, connection voltage and the maximum demand required. ESP Electricity will then determine if the existing network can withstand the additional load. ESP Electricity operates efficient, co-ordinated and economical networks and will review each application on an available load specific basis.

If you have an existing connection on an ESP Electricity network and require a service to be repositioned, or an upgrade to the existing supply, then please contact espe@espug.com with the full property address, the Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) found on your electricity bill, and details of the requested alterations. ESP Electricity will then contact you and discuss the options available.

If you already have a Smart Meter installed, you should be aware that moving the Smart Meter to a new location (via a service alteration request) may cause the wireless connectivity to be lost. If this happens, your energy supplier may need to undertake additional work to re-establish the connectivity. There may be additional charges from your energy supplier associated with this. If you are proceeding with a service alteration request with us, we advise that you also contact your energy supplier to discuss your plans with them.

For new networks, ESP Electricity does not install the infrastructure - our business model is to adopt, operate and maintain the network once contractors have completed the works. We fully support and endorse the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) operated by Lloyds Register on behalf of the UK Distribution Network Operators.
